What is a neuropsychological evaluation?
Does Dr. Cheung provide counseling or psychotherapy?
Dr. Cheung offers treatment selectively and will refer individuals she does not treat to the appropriate specialists.
Can neuropsychological evaluation be completed in one session?
Yes. However, there are circumstances in which testing may require more than one session to complete (e.g., if you prefer to have frequent rest breaks throughout testing, if your referral questions require an extensive set of tests to answer).
How long does a neuropsychological evaluation take?
Please allow 4-5 hours for a neuropsychological evaluation, which consists of a clinical interview (approximately 60 minutes), rest breaks and testing. For some individuals, it may be completed in approximately 4 hours. Each set of tests is customized according to the referral question(s) and the individual's capacity. The duration of the evaluation may vary under certain circumstances (e.g., if you require additional rest breaks for your best performance).
When will my results become available?
Dr. Cheung provides feedback either same-day or in 1-2 weeks after your evaluation. A full report is available approximately 3 weeks from the date of your neuropsychological evaluation. Dr. Cheung reviews all results and treatment recommendations directly with you and is available to answer any follow-up questions or concerns.
